One of my absolute favorite parts of Stellaris is crisis. Crises are a fantastic way to add new forces to the table that are outside of normal empires. As Mid-game crisis we have the Great Khan, the machine uprising and the Gray Tempest - from Distant Stars - and as Late-game crisis Extradimensional Invaders, the Scourge, the Contigency and War in Heaven.

Since the: Prethoryn Scourge is a Hive Mind crisis. Contigency is a Synthetic crisis. Unbidden is most likely a previously ascended Galactic Nemesis. Reckoning and End of Cycle is a Psionic crisis. I found a sweet spot at 2275/2300. This way mid game crisis starts 75 years into the game and the end game starts 150 years after the beginning. And I double the default strength.
