Sand Reaper Queen and Scorpion King and Queen are the best of both defense and offense, but all of them are fucking huge and obnoxious to have following you around. I don't recommend using these as travel companions. Legion Warrior is my personal favorite companion, but you can't get them anymore at the moment. Hopefully they make a return.

The reaper is almost as good imo but it attacks much slower and the poison spit attack it does all the time is basically useless after the enemy is already poisoned.
