Luckily there's quite a few strength centered weapons by late game for you to chose from. Longsword is a fine choice. Personally, I prefer the Lothric Knight Straight Sword when it comes to straight swords, but getting it this early is a hassle. They drop from Lothric Knights wielding these swords, but with terrible rates if memory serves. The LKS is objectively the best weapon in the game.
