Friedes scythe is just a gimmick imo. Long story short man, you can fight in win versus mobs or people with any weapon you put the time in with. Some will be harder than others, but the more you lose the more you can learn. As you can see it adds a lot of new moves, and Friede's Scythe in particular ups your movement speed significantly and gives you an absolutely ridiculous dodge. Although the moveset is patently overpowered, with me beating Gael despite playing horribly, it's incredibly fun, and I've got a bunch of weapons with original movesets to try out!

Before Friede's Scythe I suggest just either: A) dumping all your points into 40 Dex first and infusing a Sharp Weapon such as the Lothric Knight Sword. Then investing in Intelligence to buff it with Magic Weapon/Great Magic Weapon. or. I was brainstorming recently and had a thought for a new build. A warrior who uses pyromancies and the witches locks alongside the irithryll gear (straight sword maybe rapier and friedes scythe) I'm still debating armor and what class to start with like pyromancer start with fire magic? Or a class to begin with good physical

Friede’s Great Scythe is a Dex/Int scaling weapon, but requires 11 Faith and 13 Strength too. I still think Sorcerer is the best starting class if you still want to be able to cast spells too.
