I beat the Marine's past and unlocked his alt gun, but not the same with the Convict, the only thing I can think of is that I used the Marine's knight skin and not the Convict's punk skins. Pretty sure back in base game only days I could do bless runs for free, before high dragon, and I still got boss credits. Often in rainbow runs you don’t have enough items or guns so I recommend picking up a good boss killer and the Ancient Hero's Bandana, so you have enough ammo to keep you going when you have less guns, and try to pick up more good passives instead.
