Sionics NP3 = MA Defense NP3 > Chrome Microbest > Phosphate Microbest > AO Precision. Honestly pretty much any mil-spec BCG will suit your needs just fine. Just make sure the gas key is properly staked, then run the snot out of it. I have Stag, BCM, DD, POF NP3, and even have a few of the FailZero NiB BCG's everyone here seems to hate.

Honestly the standard phosphate won’t do you wrong. But if your budget allows, the NP3 is an upgrade. It’s super slick and looks amazing. I can’t speak to the sionics BCG, but I’ve seen a lot of guys saying to email sionics and they’ll send you an invoice for the NP3 BCG. Apparently they ship out in ~6 business days.

Improvements aren't gimmicks. it's a standard bcg with a "special" coating that isn't particularly durable and has similar lubricity and ease of cleaning to something like np3 or nitriding.

There are gouge marks in the 3bore area and some noticeable wear on the usual spots. They do not feel rough to the touch so i dont think this affects function, but is np3 THIS easily scratched?as for sionics, they use Microbest parts and hand QC and assemble them in house, upgrade the spring to a sprinco 5 coil XP extractor spring, and use Ocks fasteners. Also, they have Robar NP3 them for their higher end ones (vs. phosphate). Think of Sionics and SOLGW as making a hand fitted Microbest bcgNP3 is superior to hard chrome on paper but you probably won't notice a major difference. Depending on where your Microbest chrome came from, the Sionics will probably adhere more closely to TDP specs and uses upgraded small parts. There's no burning need to replace a good chrome BCG with this but it is a better BCG overall.

NP3 is better for cleaning, longevity, rust resistance, and coefficient of friction. So I'd go Sionics if they were the same price, especially since cleaning seems to be high on your priorities. If the price difference was huge, I'd go chrome (cause it's still better than nothing) but it doesn't seem to be. 1.

Are there any notable differences in C158 and S7 steel as far as wear and tear? Are there truly significant differences in coating type? ... Only bcg go above solgw for would be the np3, for sure. Otherwise microbest (bcm,solgw,etc)I love brownells but they do not have the level of QC as solgw. This bcg was also coated by Sionics, objectively the best NP3 coating you can get. They pioneered and perfected the process. Other companies can’t seem to get it right with the level of repeatability that Sionics can.
