Altjira Nov 16, 2015 @ 3:36am. There are 2 simple wheeled options. 1. Use a front mounted drill, and rotors or wheel levels to create a dent, then raise the drills and drive forward/down. If you have enough drill front and can control the level wel enough you shouldbe able to make a tunnel miner.

To solve this, we put in 4 stabilizing pistons that extend to almost touch the 4 sides of the drill shaft. These pistons are actuated when moving the rig and at the start of the drilling operation to prevent the drill from hitting the rover itself. The drill works great! Only complaint is too much stone. I set all pistons to 0 maximum distance and add a timer block for each piston, set them to increase maximum distance for one piston and activate the next timer block. And loop it. 30 seconds delay is usually fine.
