Why can't you beat it ? Just dodge and learn its attack patterns. It was difficult for me but not amazing so. No tips specific for this boss but I would recommend bounding a dedicated dash button if you haven't already. For some reason the cooldown is shorter if you have a specific button to press rather then the double tap.

It isn't a glitch, it's just a bit of an exploit of mechanics. What happened is that aquatic scourge doesn't aggro until you hit it, but due to it existing, boss zen is applied and far less enemies spawn, allowing for an easy exploration of the abyss as long as you don't accidentally smack the worm.
