If you call in and miss an entire shift of 8hrs, and you use 8hrs of your PPTO in a time off request for that day, the 1 point for missing work is cleared from your record. Put in 8 hours. As long as you cover the shift or part of a shift you miss, you cannot be pointed on it, regardless of it being a key date or not.
