From personal experience cashiers for the most part are at register for there whole shifts, you will be running registers and will either be cleaning working truck totes or putting up sale signs all while keeping an eye on the front, most stores will run only a single cashier and a single person in management unless your a busy store but with the addition of self checkouts that's rare.
