The only input the soundbar has it's just an optical audio plug. as far as I know all that signal contains is just audio, there's no volume information or any data like that. I actually confirmed it by covering the IR receiver on the TV and the sound bar separately to confirm that it is the Roku IR that's controlling the soundbar.
