Wanted to do a fellowship in pulm crit (which is near impossible from a primary care program because my PD wouldn’t write a letter) Matched into a PCCM fellowship at USF. I've known people who have failed, and matched into top 3 peds residency in the country (USA, and they didn't even get that high of step 1 score; granted, they did come from top 10 US MD school).
