Changing equipment, changing glamour, equipping materia, displaying your weapon or headpiece - all of this will make the portrait unavailable if you dont save it afterwards. Instant portrait. No matter the glam I'm wearing on the job that I'm playing, it should just reflect it when going into an instance.
