Some atlas cannot be hijacked though, the first one at Sur'Kesh for example (I think also Grissom Academy). If you're hitting it correctly, and it is one that can be hjacked the glass will be avaliable to break once the mech is at half armour. 3.Fight the hordes of Cerberus troops that storm the room from all sides (left) then make your way to the landing pad and beware of the Atlas (right) coming your way. On any difficulty below Insanity the glass should break after it's shields are down and it's got about 50-75% armor remaining if all of your shots hit the windshield. Once it's broken, you have to kill the pilot inside the Mech, aim for the head.
