I get this blinking red light every 3-4 weeks. In-between it works fine without problem for weeks. At first I thought it might be a loose ethernet connection somewhere. Over a few months, I realized the only way to cure it to reboot my router. My router goes to other computers and my Tivo, no other device sees problem when red light happens.
