I am looking at Underwood Ammo's Xtreme Penetrator, mainly in 9mm, 45auto and 10mm. I've heard that the ammo is not meant for self defense due to the extreme penetration the round offers. Does anyone have any experience with this ammo? I've seen videos on line and even the 9mm penetrates like nothing else.

There are two basic loads, the Xtreme penetrator and the extreme Defender. The penetrator doesn't make a good SD round because it does penetrate through 25 - sometimes over 32 inches in ballistic gelatin. The extreme Defender is lighter, 65 grains and the flutes are sharper and it dumps its energy and 15 to 16 inches.
