Pyromancy and Magic are both really good. They are both amazing for everything really. As far as what weapons to use probably dex weapons especially with pyromancy. The nice thing about pyromancy is it doesnt rely on stats at all aside from dex for casting speed. So you can put points in dex so you melee really well and have strong spells.
