The difficulty comes into play with the extremely short deadlines given for assignments, coupled with the fact that assignments build off each other, and assignment grades are ALWAYS late, so you go blindly into it.

I don't know if the introduction courses tend to have a wide scope, or the advanced courses are only taken by students who did well in the intro.
