Who ever installed the opti the first time missed dowel location not once, but twice. If you look at the picture you can see that the dowel was rubbing on the hub itself ...Just like the LS engines you will need to delete the VATS (Vehicle Anti-Theft) and remove the second O2 sensor information for emissions. One cannot adjust the timing on an LT1 or LT4. The timing is set by the Optispark in conjunction with the Powertrain Control Module (PCM). The Optispark distributor HAS to be aligned perfectly to work. Follow all of your spark plug wires (perhaps have a friend help with this) from the distributor to the individual spark plugs.

Optispark is a Delphi part. I always thought the optispark failed suddenly. They are easy to replace so what I did was picked up a new optispark and swapped it in and kept the original working one on the shelf.
