Just like how faster weapons are nearly always the best DPS, the fastest methods are the most efficient. You're better off saving time on slayer lvls and using it to make gp with a high gp/hr method. As a 45 def OSRS acc, I even use overheads for every task as well and it's still financially chill with enough bossing
