Fantastic camera for the $. On Monday I just received a Fuji Tiara (also called a DL Super Mini) from a Japanese Ebay seller. I haven’t yet shot my first roll, but I was stunned by the optical quality on display in the r/analog photos taken with it. They’re available for around $300 and they’re tiny and ultraportable.

I’m guessing that the film wildlife shooter is even more rare than the film photojournalist. It’s not my genre, but if it were I’d want a Nikon F5 with a 200-400mm autofocus zoom.

After being less than impressed with the V600 for 35mm slides I decided to try out the 8300i. It is such an improvement over the V600 and so much faster even though it's one slide at a time. Just thought I'd throw it out there as I haven't seen much said about the 8300i. But let’s be honest, for 99% of people and use cases, digital camera’s would be the better choice. Unlike the Rollei, it is not a planar type, but rather an excellent Heliar clone. The old APX emulsion was much better. They changed it back in 2003. The old Agfa APX had a diamond shape logo. The new stuff has a round logo. The old stuff also had a lot better contrast and was generally just a better film. I think someone bought out the stock and once it ran out they just started selling cheaper film under the AGFA APX brand. 6.

For more precise focusing you could use a small rangefinder, with Olympus 35 RC being one of the smallest. Leica II and III, and their Soviet and Japanese clones, are also very small if you choose a small lens. But even the smallest RF is a bit bigger than non-RF cameras, and you stand the risk of the RF being vibrated out of alignment. 1) No photo posts that belong in /r/Analog 2) When asking for help, give all the images and information you have available; help others help you. 3) No personal attacks r/analogcomputing: All about Analog Computing - researching, building, programming and using Analog Computers. From these Lomo samples, it does look like the Lomo produces considerably more even photos which makes their 21mm tempting... Most film photographers are Hobbyists. Fact is, film can't compete with the speed of digital. However, more people are buying than selling analog these days.
