Probably yeah. I tried dex first and it has neither the defense, greatshields or heavy stagger weapons of a strength build, and none of the bleed of having some arcane. Truthfully the best bleed weapons enjoy dex though, like helice, eleonora's, Rivers of Blood. Bleed is definitely strong enough to just use that instead. Elden Ring in particular makes hybrid builds super easy, because spell slots are essentially free. In Dark Souls you had to level Attunement to get spell slots which was another stat to level. I started over to do a faith build after running a dex melee build. I find doing this forces me to learn how to use incants with a modification in play style. Lightning spear is fast. flame sling and the black flame version to be fast enough if you’re good.
