Late-game Synthetic Evolution blows everything else out of the water. Massive productivity bonuses and enormous population growth give it the one-two punch of having a bigger and more efficient economy. The other ascension paths cannot match the raw economic supremacy of Synthetic Evolution once it's online.

Other things I learned: Although you can integrate other species, psionic ascension highly favors very limited diversity. This is definitely true; both biological and synth path can "fix" unfavorable species traits, while psionic path cannot. Diversity isn't the end of the world, but it definitely hurts you in a way it doesn't for the other paths.
