Inspecting the Malistaire the Undying gear on another player shows it either comes from an entity on Darkmoor or Cyclops Lane. I check with Death, Balance, and Storm robe, hat, and boots and the wands.Darkmoor is a great way to get some of the best level 100+ gear. Specifically, the hat, the robe, the boots, and the wand dropped from Malistaire the undying in the Graveyard. Yevgeny Nightcreeper, the first boss in the graveyard, also drops the best athame. This gear is near the best for every school.So I would personally say obtain the Tier 1 Darkmoor boots, but your time would be better spent getting the Robes from Exalted Rattlebones, and the Hat from Exalted Krokopatra. For death you want you do full malistaire gear and darkmoor athame. From then on the gear is pretty much static for everyone until 130. The athames and rings from wintertusk can be bought in the bazaar albeit rarely, they are obtained from farming the nastrond and shango's amulets are a vendor bought amulet in zafaria.

Poseidon boots can be an upgrade depending on your school, its also worth checking the crafted gear from Avalon on. Khrysalis in particular has decent stuff but you won't be able to access the recipes until halfway into part 2, and by then you'll probably already be in darkmoor gear.
