The armor (especially with Apotheosis gems) was nice but was replaced by Mekanism stuff, and even the very very powerful early- and midgame freeze-coldsnap-spell-combo for fighting of course at some point gets replaced by your insanely broken Morgan. The dash & bounce spell at one point gets replaced by your creative flight.

EDIT2: Best way I found is to use the scanner from Scannable to scan for spawners and chests, any 2 chests relatively close together has a decent chance to be a boss room and a chest directly under a spawner in a random cave has a decent chance to have loot with affix (also one of the best base-spawners for apotheosis) 1.Since the recent update, salvager can crush the gems into dust.
