I'm a Dark Souls veteran and feel completely stuck in the i-frame mechanic. As I understand, BotW doesn't have that so you can't dodge through a large weapon like a lynel's.

If you think that the First boss its hard, my friend, quit the game because there are maaaany bosses much stronger than this One. Anyways If you want to Dodge the "Spear to the ground" attack you Just Have to go away from the blue circle that forms a bit before the boss hits the ground with the Spear. Hope that helps.
