Correct. To start Starbirth, you need a normal void egg; and to get your second living ship and on, you also need a normal one. So cracking void eggs are unusable unless someone is at that stage in the mission and somehow lost their cracking egg, which is pretty unlikely. If you want to dupe eggs, make sure they’re in their original state.
