When I reassembled the lever did not rotate back to the horizontal 3 o'clock position. It is now stuck at 7/5 o'clock. The slide sits about 1/8" from the back end of the frame, but racks ok and can be locked back with the release/catch. Also, can't get the slide off of the frame, now. Can't insert a mag, can't pull trigger fully.

I removed the back plate and took out the striker assembly, and striker safety and spring. The slide then could come off freely. The take down pin seems stuck in the trigger mecinism. Slowly push the Slide forward until you feel the Striker Pin barely make contact with the Sear. With the pistol pointed in a safe direction, slowly pull the Trigger to lower the Sear. Turn the slide upside down and remove the recoil spring and guide rod. Remove the barrel from the slide. Carefully lift the barrel out of the slide. But, my dumb a somehow lost the retention pin spring. Now the take down lever can be rotated past the 5:00 position to the 90 degree position so you can slide the slide back onto the frame. You don't have to remove the fire control unit to do this. More often than not the Takedown Safety Lever is the culprit. It could also be the slide catch lever spring, but first you need to get the slide off to tell.
