Building walls even if you're super far out of town is honestly more of a peace of mind thing, so that even on the very off chance one makes its way out there, you have a barrier to protect you. that way you dont get noobed while foraging, doing mechanics or just when you're exhausted from fitness. Zeds cannot break through non player placed walls/fences, they can break through non player placed doors and windows except for a few like metal shutters. They can and will break through all player made structures.
